Launch of the Tax Gap Toolkit
Join us for the launch of the Tax Gap Toolkit, a newly developed resource designed to enhance tax compliance and policymaking. This event will introduce the toolkit and its key features and explore its practical application in Uganda, demonstrating our commitment to actionable solutions in tax policy and administration.
The Tax Gap Toolkit, developed by the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics (UNU-WIDER) with support from the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI), provides tax administrations with a framework for estimating tax gaps using a bottom-up approach enhanced by machine learning. The toolkit has been developed with input from pilot studies in Zambia and Tanzania and has been tested in Uganda. It is designed to be accessible to countries implementing risk-based or operational audits, offering valuable insights to strengthen tax compliance.
