PNG GOVERNANCE FACILITY

Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Australia are committed to the transition of PNG to a developed economy, with stable institutions and inclusive growth. Under the PNG–Australia Governance Partnership, both governments have agreed to work together on mutual priorities, to contribute to a safe, secure, and prosperous PNG. It will do so by supporting the systems and institutions necessary for inclusive economic growth and service delivery. Majority of DFAT’s governance programs in PNG will be implemented through a facility approach from 1 July 2016. Activities will be delivered at the national and subnational levels across key work areas including economic governance; promoting private sector development; decentralisation for improved development; citizen participation; and strengthening leadership and coalitions. The estimated total value of the investment is AUD $423,465,977.27 over 4 years and will be managed by Abt Associates.Sector Split: 150 - Government and Civil Society
