Support to Revenue Administration Reform in South Eastern Europe (SEE)

This project of the IMF, co-financed by SECO and the EU, will support the governments of Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia in improving their revenue adminstrations and strengthening their core tax functions. It is a continuation of the support SECO has been provided to revenue administration reforms in SEE since 2010. Efficient and effective revenue administrations are critical to strengthen public finances, and to mobilize revenue to finance development objectives and good public services. As part of the transition to market economies, the South Eastern European (SEE) countries have introduced new tax legislations that follow international standards. They face major challenges in implementing organizational improvements, compliance programs, modernizing administrative processes and strengthening taxpayer services.
