Slovakia

In 2020, Slovakia approved a multi-year project which provides support to North Macedonia to improve the administrative capacities of their Ministry of Finance and the Public Revenue Office to develop effective business processes in international taxation and tax collection, and to improve the quality of services to taxpayers. The project also reinforces the capacities of the Ministry to address the informal economy and improve the capacities of local level tax institutions. The project is being implemented by the UNDP; however, it faced implementation delays due to Covid-19 and the 2020 parliamentary elections in North Macedonia. Slovakia also provides support to Montenegro through a UNDP-implemented project which focuses on strengthening capacities for public revenue through improving the normative and institutional frameworks related to games of chance and gambling.
