TAN/Tax Modernisation Programme

With good tax policies and efficient tax collection countries can improve the equality of their country and citizens. In Tanzania the recent economic growth has enabled the tax administration to collect more taxes. Also according to the latest studies Tanzania has been able to reduce poverty and distribute wealth more equally between its citizens. Tax Modernisation programme supports TRAs (Tanzania Revenue Authority) new 5 year plan which aims to Support Voluntary Compliance Enhance Trade Facilitation Improve Compliance Management Enhance Risk Management and Good Governance Improve Data Quality Improve Operational Efficiency and Strengthen Institutional Capacity. Finland's support will be towards the operational strategies implementation (core support 4 million euros). The project will run from 2017 to 2021.
