UNU WIDER DOMESTIC REVENUE MOBILISATION PROGRAM PHASE II

The overall objective of the program is developing countries enabled to improve financing for national development priorities and the SDGs through increased tax revenue and strengthened social contract. The programme is expected to lead to the adoption implementaion and strengthening of inclusive and equitable development policies practices and institutions in developing countries in the area of demoestic recenue mobilisation. These objectives are pursued through enhancing the capacity of target audiences to analyse design and implement multiple aspects of research and policies around the themes of domestic resource mobilization. Three broad themes will be in focus in phase II i) The empirics of tax and social protection ii) Environmental taxation and just energy transition and iii) Tax and governance.Target groups of the program policy makers and researchers in developing countries with particular focus on Sub Saharan Africa. Country specific engagement Rwanda Uganda Zambia Tanzania (partnerships with revenue authorities).
